The types of vegetarians...

You may or may not know that until the approximate age of 23 I was a Lacto-Ovo Vegetrarian. From that point forward I became a Flexatarian, or in other words, I started eating fish and chicken. But at no point, and I mean at no point in my life would I ever, ever, ever, except under dire circumstances, become a Vegan. Dear me...that is just too dreadful.

And here is why I could never be a Vegan. My friend owns a vegan restaurant in Dallas that is rocking awesome. Seriously, try the party platter...there is a cheese dip on that platter that is better then real queso...and it's made with pistachios. If I Yelped, I'd give this place an awesome review and 5 stars. It's called the Spiral Diner and seriously, you really should try it.

So we went the other night. Every time I go I try to order something new, because as a Flexatarian I can't always order everything off the menu...but not a Spiral Diner. And trust me, I want to try everything. So I got the Sketti and Meatballs. They were delicious...no complaints here, I loved them. I had some left over, so I took it home to eat later. And three days later I did, except do you know what I did, I did this...

Yes, ladies and gentleman. That would be cheese on top of my delicious, balanced and perfectly protein packed Sketti and Meatballs. I couldn't resist. I was in the privacy of my own home, my friend would never know (unless you send her this blog entry...and don't do that) and I love cheese on top of my spaghetti. So if you want to know what type of vegetarian I am, I'll tell you...I'm the type who can't eat red meat because it makes her stomach explode from the inside but could never go back to her lacto-ovan ways because she loves sushi, salmon and the #1 at Chic Fil A too much to go back.

So what does that make me? I feel like the term Flexitarian is too generic. I'd like to call myself a Sush-mon-Chickatarian. So if you're stopping by Chic Fil A today, give me a call...I'll meet you there.

  1. I have never been to Chic Fil A. There are none in Nevada, and I have never thought to go while traveling.

So sad you can't eat red meat. I so love steak.

  2. We have a Spiral Diner in Fort Worth, too! (And Abigail's order is always the Sketti & Meatballs.) I don't know what you would call us...we do eat red meat, but very rarely. Chicken & fish occasionally...some cheese, but not much, rice milk... I'd say we Coopers are pretty much all across the board!
